ABOUT WEG
WEG Surgical Solutions was started to fill the gap between under engineered and dated products to over engineered attempted solutions. With decades of experience in the medical device field, WEG knew the key to innovating was to work directly with the individuals using these products. WEG Surgical Solutions worked closely with operating room nurses to develop tools that served the needs of the nurses and the safety of the patients.
OUR FOUNDERS
T.J. Wanbaugh
With more than 25 years of commercial leadership experience in the medical/surgical device field, T.J. has been in a variety of senior leadership positions with Baxter, Bard, Covidien, GE, Applied Medical, and Mallinckrodt Biosurgery (sold to Baxter in 2018). He’s been a part of major innovations in the market space from some of the first laparoscopic procedures, the first “Beating Heart” procedures, the launch of the first Fibrin Sealant to the market, and the first biologically active combination product used to facilitate hemostasis.
TJ was ready to take these experiences and apply his knowledge to provide best in class medical/surgical devices to the market with a new challenge – starting up a surgical device company dedicated to making products that place safety first, are easy to use, maintain the highest quality standards, and are cost effective. This ideology is our guiding principle with all of our products.
Paul Grozier
Paul grew up in the UK in London and went to the University of Manchester before moving to the U.S. and settling in Chicago with his wife and their three boys.
For more than 25 years, Paul has worked in the pharmaceutical and hospital devices businesses for Abbott Laboratories, Hollister and Baxter Healthcare. During this time, he has led factory teams in Europe, product development and commercial teams in the U.S. and sales and marketing organizations across the U.S., Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Paul is now enjoying building WEG Surgical Solutions, working with hospitals in the U.S. to help improve surgical outcomes by making and providing innovative equipment to support the surgical teams and patients during their procedures.
